Abstract

This creates a postscript image showing the holdings involved in the search, visually. Rows are journals, and columns are years. The size of a circle indicates the relative number of holdings in that journal for that year, as does the redness (the smallest holdings will be yellow). This makes it easy to see gaps in a collection or other search set at a glance. There's an interaction with conference proceedings that can lead to some columns being blank at times. I unfortunately did not have time to investigate, but the problem is minor and I hope to fix it soon, probably by making it be publication or conference proceedings titles that are used as indices.
